Darrel became Chairman of the Tartan Canada Board in 2011. Prior to that appointment, he served for four years as President and Director of the company. Darrel has over 30 years of experience in the oil sands/heavy oil industry, primarily with Flint Energy Services, Husky Energy, and Syncrude Canada. Most recently, he was Senior Vice-President of Flint Transfield Services. He holds a B. Sc. and M. Sc. In Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a registered Professional Engineer. Darrel has served on a number of industry and community boards, including the Alberta Chamber of Resources, Lakeland College, and the University of Calgary Senate.

Brian served as Chairman of the Tartan Canada Board from 2008 until 2011. He became a Managing Partner of Banyan Capital Partners in 2007. Prior to Banyan, Brian spent four years as CEO of BC Research Inc. and was a Senior Vice President at BCE Media Inc. for four years. From 1993 through 2002 Brian was the President and CEO of Infosat Communications, Inc. Brian is currently a director of BC Research Inc. and Radiant Communications Inc. and is a past director of a number of public and private companies. In addition to holding the Certified Management Accountant designation, Brian has an MBA from the University of Calgary.

Mike joined the Tartan Canada Board in 2006. He has been Chief Financial Officer of Banyan Capital Partners since 2005. Prior to Banyan, Mike spent three years with an accounting and tax consulting firm in Vancouver and spent three years on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange as a trader with a proprietary options arbitrage group. Mike has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance) from the University of British Columbia, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a Chartered Accountant.

Mike joined the Tartan Canada Board in 2008. He is a professional chemical engineer with over 30 years experience in the oil and gas and chemical industries, the majority in heavy oil and oil sands. Mike held senior positions in several organizations including Husky Energy, Ranger Oil, Ensyn Petroleum and North American Oil Sands Corporation. He was a founder and the first full time employee at North American Oil Sands Corporation which was sold to Statoil in June 2007. After six months assisting with the Corporate integration he retired at the end of 2007. He was formerly a Director of the Petroleum Technology Research Centre in Regina and is Founder of the Oil Sands Executive meeting Group in Calgary. Mike is currently providing advisory services to several Companies in the energy industry.

Murray has over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas, pipeline and utilities industries. Most recently, he was Managing Director of Lloydminster Maintenance. He holds a B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and is a registered Professional Engineer. Murray has served on a number of industry boards, including being the Past Chairman of Construction Labour Relations - Saskatchewan.
